This creates a unique avenue to ensure the Methodist Healthcare System continues to be a benefit to the community by providing quality care to all and charitable care when needed, and it provides revenue to Methodist Healthcare Ministries for its programs.

The San Antonio Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing millions of pounds of food to more than 500 charitable organizations in Southwest Texas serving those in need. In addition to food distribution, the San Antonio Food Bank provides numerous programs that not only solve the immediate problems of hunger, but help individuals and families gain long-term food security.

The MLBA Mission Statement:  To provide Resources, Facilities and Programs that enrich the quality of life in the Medina Lake Area with an emphasis on Youth, Senior Citizens and other Community Priorities.  

Lakehills United Methodist Church is a local congregation of the larger United Methodist Church. We are part of the Rio Texas annual conference in the Hill Country District. Our congregation has members from around our area, including Lakehills, Pipe Creek, Mico and even Helotes.  

If there were one word to describe this congregation, it is ACTIVE. Lakehills UMC is active in our community. We seek to build relationships with our neighbors. Our members serve as mentors for those seeking a pathway out of poverty, volunteer in our TWIGS after-school program, deliver Meals on Wheels, volunteer their time as a part of their local volunteer fire departments and many, many other activities. To be a part of this congregation is to live out our faith everywhere we are.

Bandera County Helping Hand Inc. shall be organized and operated primarily for the charitable purpose of providing direct assistance for families and individuals in need, who are facing a crisis in their lives and who reside in Bandera County.  ​  

This mission includes referral to and in full cooperation with public and private agencies in their fields of expertise so that there is no duplication of services. It embodies the belief system that the high value of each individual is created in the image of God held by the church community who helped organize and now provides financial support to Helping Hand.

Our mission: To help unite and equip the Body of Christ with food, resources, and training necessary to transform our communities and the lives of those in poverty and need through the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Hill Country Samaritans seeks to unite people through Jesus' name to meet the needs of others within their own community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we raise funds, organize donations, and facilitate events with local churches, non-profits, and other volunteers to aid our neighbors in Bandera, Medina, and surrounding counties.

American Legion Post 410 is organization of veterans dedicated to veterans, servicing God, country and family. We are an active post involved in the community. We do numerous events during the year to include 4 of July parades, Chili Cook offs, Las Vegas Nites, Christmas dinner, etc. We participate in local flag ceremonies, funeral services, and parades. We are always looking for more veterans who want to get involved to join us. We also have a very active Sons of the Legion and Auxiliary groups. We are also have a Legion Riders group.

Post 157 was chartered in 1920 and continues its same mission to support veterans, families and our community.  In addition to commemorating veteran/patriotic events such as Flag Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day, there are a host of programs members and volunteers provide.  

Support to veterans and families include; Bandera ProRodeo volunteers allow free admission for veterans, resume assistance, funeral support, and special events.  Community Outreach includes free quarterly breakfasts, collection and conduct of unserviceable U.S. flags, hosting the annual Bandera Honors Veterans program and parade, voter registration, facility use by other non-profits and coordinate and host monthly blood drives.  

Youth programs include Veterans in the Classroom, guest speakers, mentoring, sponsor Boys State attendees, support Boy Scout Troop 146 and Bandera High School Naval Junior ROTC, and annual scholarships and military recruit recognition.  

The Auxiliary provides monthly support to veterans in local nursing homes, sponsors Girls State participants, raises money for cancer research and assists local veteran families in need by sale of poppies.  

The latest addition to The American Legion family is The American Legion Post 157 Riders providing camaraderie and fundraising for local veterans and families in need. 

Book check-out, databases, free Wi-Fi, free computer use, children's services, homeschool help, and programs for all ages including Little One's Storytime, a Summer Reading Program, and Yoga for Beginners.

At Bandera Foster Closet we are dedicated to helping foster children & their families with supplies needed to bring dignity in their most vulnerable time. We are here to serve the counties of Bandera, Kendall, Kerr, Medina & the town of Helotes!  

We serve foster, kinship, fictive-kin, and safety plan families/children.  We are able to help with diapers, formula, clothing, shoes, car seats, cribs, toys, and more!  

Eligibility Requirements: Placement paperwork / DFPS Status

Cost: FREE

Outreach to Medicaid eligible clients.  Education on wellness checkups.  Transportation.  Case management.  Assistance enrolling in Medicaid and Dental plans / Providers.
